War never changes, airships, the old world.A few more words
Who doesn't like airships can leave the room. Who doesn't like retro airships can also leave.
War is war, it sucks for everyone, otherwise it would be called a party instead of war. Here we have 2 groups of people that have been fighting for as long as anyone can remember to the point where armed encounters are ritualized under gentleman's law. Oh it's 5 o'clock it's time to throw some troops at each other again. One side is made out to look like faceless bod villain minions initially, but as the story progresses they are revealed to be as human as the others.
The third major faction serves as a puppeteer: they have the tech, they allow everybody else to use the tech and they sit on their asses and watch the war play out.
That's the background on which the main characters, a boy and a girl named Claus and Lavie, courriers, go on their adventure. Needless to say they get tangled deep into the war itself and end up playing a major role.
Eventually it's revealed that they're not where you think they are, but they find the means to go back there where the second season takes place. And that's as best as I can say it without spoiling it too much.
[The second season will be dealt with separately another time.]

Forgetability
I remember heavy use of Greek. Everything is written in Greek. I had a Greek friend translate for me and it's mostly gibberish, except this one part about the European Union and a missile crisis, either way it's unrelated to the story.
Characters tend to be paired with each other, not necessarily in a romantic way, and most of their development builds off of that. They are believable and the viewer can relate to them. This is one of the strengths of the show.
The various ships are very well polished and well designed. These aren't your gundam style how-on-earth-doe- this-even-move atrocities. They're slow moving air vehicles with a decent amount of thought thought put behind how they should function.

World
Group A fights group B while group C laughs. How about the rest of the world? Good question.
Spoilers ahead.
The "world" is where a colony ship landed after the Earth became too much of a bother to live on. But that was ages ago and most people forgot. Some technology gets lost, new technology appears and some gets reinvented. And if you have groups of people without easy access to each other different mentalities will eventually form, leading to conflict. Human conflict where everyone is equally to blame, which is not something you often see. And that's precisely what happened.

TL;DR: Should I watch it?
Yes. Why are you still here?
